The holiday season in South Lake Tahoe is the most bustling time of the year, especially around the New Year’s holiday. There are no shortages of celebrations here to welcome in the new year: most casinos have events and their clubs, lounges, and patios; bars and restaurants throughout town will be filled with New Year’s party goers… As the whole town will be gathering to watch the ball drop, it may be understandably hard to nail down a location to ring in the new year. Here are some of our top picks for events going on around town:
Heavenly Holidays New Year’s Eve Celebration: December 31
This annual family-friendly event runs from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. in The Shops at Heavenly Village. The activities around the village include live music, ice skating, shopping, restaurants, and just in time for the midnight Ball Drop in New York City’s Time Square, Heavenly’s Gondola Ball Drop will cross above the crowd, and a fabulous fireworks show will light up the night. This is a free event.
New Year’s Eve Cruise on the M.S. Dixie II: December 31
Ring in the New Year aboard the M.S. Dixie II! Their New Year’s Eve cruise celebration goes from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and includes an excellent three-course dinner, live music with dancing and special celebrations. Reservations are required.
SnowGlobe: December 29-31
An annual three-day outdoor event, SnowGlobe fills the air with electric dance music (EDM) music from some of the world’s best musicians. A unique fusion of mountains and music, this popular event takes place in heart of town on the Lake Tahoe Community College grounds, with multiple stages. Some of the more notable musicians appearing onstage are: Kaskade, TYGA, G-Eazy, and Rae Sremmurd. Each night ends with a fireworks display, including New Year’s Eve at midnight.
New Year’s Eve at PEEK Nightclub: December 31
This year promises to be the party of a lifetime as PEEK showcases their First Annual Black Diamond Ball. Listen as DJs spin your favorite dance music and aerialists perform over your head. VIP Tables available for purchase. Dress to impress. Event goes from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Stateline Casino Area: December 31
If you’re looking for an experience similar to “Times Square”, the downtown casino area at Stateline is the closest you will find on the West Coast. The city closes down the streets between Stateline Avenue and Lake Parkway to give party goers ample space to roam and bounce around from one festive spot to the next. This event is not for the faint at heart as the streets and casinos get quite crowded.
From all of at Buckingham Properties, we hope you have a fun and safe New Year’s celebration!
