Outdoor Dining in South Lake Tahoe

During the summer months, Lake Tahoe is blessed with some truly perfect weather with seemingly endless sunny days, mild warm temperatures, cool afternoon breezes, and spectacular sunsets.  These days are meant for “al fresco” dining, and taking in the summer splendor that Lake Tahoe has to offer while enjoying a freshly prepared meal among the great outdoors.

Beach House Tahoe

Pictured above, this seasonal lakefront restaurant sits on the sand at Lakeside Beach behind the Stateline casino area.  Open during the summer months, the Beach House Tahoe offers outdoor seating only.  Famed for their hearty burgers, sidewinder fries, and fish ‘n chips, their menu offers all of the American cafe classics, with an unparalleled view of the lake and adjacent beach.

Riva Grill

Outdoor Dining Deck at the Riva Grill

One of the most popular outdoor dining spots in South Lake Tahoe is the Riva Grill.  With their large deck lined with glass railings, the view of the Ski Run Marina and lake beyond are unobstructed.  Tall, over-sized patio umbrellas shade diners during the sunny afternoons, and subtle heat lamps warm up the outdoor dining area around dusk.  Enjoy a frosty, legendary Wet Woody and some upscale classic California cuisine at one of the south shore’s premiere restaurants.

Brooks’ Bar & Deck

Brooks' Bar & Deck at Edgewood

Located just off the legendary Edgewood’s picturesque 18th hole, Brooks’ Bar & Deck offers golfers and guests stunning views of all the magic the Sierras have to offer.  Overlooking the course, lake, and surrounding mountains, the outdoor deck is a favorite dining spot for both tourists and locals.  Open to the public, Brooks’ offers refined comfort food, signature cocktails and craft beers.

The Beacon Bar & Grill

The Beacon Bar & Grill at Camp Richardson Resort

Sitting directly on the beach in the historic Camp Richardson Resort, the Beacon Bar & Grill has been a popular lakefront restaurant for many years, mainly due to their impressive outdoor dining area.  During the summer months, the patio is typically full from open to close with patrons enjoying delectable cuisine, live music, gorgeous lake views, and some of the legendary Beacon Rum Runner drinks.  With a tasteful nautical theme throughout and beachfront location, the Beacon is definitely a must-do Tahoe experience.

Zephyr Cove Resort Restaurant

Zephyr Cove Resort Restaurant

The historic Zephyr Cove Lodge dates back to the early 1900’s, and has kept much of that Old Tahoe charm throughout the years.  Inside the lodge is their famous restaurant which offers an enticing selection of American favorites for breakfast and lunch, and contemporary classics for dinner.  Inside the restaurant you will find a rustic, yet comfortable, decor with stone fireplace, mason jar chandelier, and lots of use of pine throughout.  Outside is a small deck with tables looking out to the beach and lake beyond; a great way to experience this iconic resort!

Boathouse on the Pier

Situated on the pier in the Timbercove Marina behind the Tahoe Beach Retreat, is the Boathouse.  Located up on the second floor of the building gives the Boathouse panoramic views of Lake Tahoe, perfect for enjoying a warm afternoon or sunset from the outside deck.  Their menu features many seafood items, flatbreads, salads, and pasta, as well as draft beers and specialty cocktails from the lake view bar.
