President’s Day Weekend and Valentine’s Day fall on the same long day weekend next month! Why not come up to South Lake Tahoe to celebrate with your significant other, or your friends and family on this three day weekend?
Just like any winter weekend in South Lake Tahoe, there will be live music, great skiing, winter adventures, fabulous food and more. Here are our suggestions for what to do on your Presidents Day Weekend trip to South Lake Tahoe!
Hit the Town!
Saturday Night we have two great shows planned at the local casinos. At Harrah’s Lake Tahoe, Grand Funk Railroad will be playing some funky tunes to dance around to. Also on Saturday night, Jonny Lang will be at MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa. If you are unable to buy tickets for either of these shows, head instead to one of the nightclubs in the casinos and dance the night away.
If nightclubs are not really your vibe, there are many local bars that are worth stopping buy for a beer and a bite to eat. McP’s Taphouse Grill is located right across from the casinos and has 40 beers on tap. Also in the Heavenly Village, there is the Stateline Brewery, Kalanis Restaurant, Gunbarrel Tavern and more. You will find a type of bar, and style of food for everyone.
Sunday February 14th is Valentines Day!
We hope that you choose to spend Sunday night here in South Lake Tahoe, rather than making the drive back to the Bay Area. It is a long weekend after all. Spend the day on the mountain with your significant other, and then head out to a fancy dinner for two. Our favorite date-night spot is the Chart House, a fine dining seafood restaurant with a view! The food (and the drinks) truly are exceptional. If you are planning on celebrating and enjoying a full meal, you must make reservations. Especially for Valentines Day.
Enjoy the SNOW!
The Godzilla El Nino that everyone was talking about, is definitely here. Last night Tahoe was hit with another storm, leaving Heavenly with 16 inches, Kirkwood with 15 inches and Northstar with 18 inches of fresh powder! The skiing today is going to be one of the best days had all season. But don’t worry, we are forecast to keep receiving these storms. By President’s Day Weekend the conditions will be even better! If downhill skiing isn’t your thing, at least get out on some snowshoes or cross-country skis and take in the beauty of Lake Tahoe.
