Memorial Day Weekend is almost here! For those of you smart enough to choose South Lake Tahoe as your holiday destination, choose from a great variety of activities to partake in. Although May is still considered the off-season here in Tahoe, Memorial Day is an unofficial kickoff to the fast approaching summer. The weather starts to warm, boat rentals begin and we can enjoy summer-like weather without the crowds! Here are a few of the bigger local events taking place this weekend.

Lake Tahoe Summer Kick Off Car and Bike Show at the Heavenly Village
When: Friday May 22 – Monday May 25, 2015
Location: Heavenly Village
Do you like cool cars and bikes? Walk around the Heavenly Village this weekend and you will see a variety of new and old bikes and cars. Enter your name in to win prizes! Along with the vehicles, there will also be vendors set up along the sidewalk with handmade art, gorgeous photography and more!

Heavenly Village Summer Concert Series
When: May 22 – May 25, 2015
Where: Heavenly Village
The kick off to the Heavenly Village Summer Concert Series is here! Beginning Friday and Saturday from 5-9 from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, you can enjoy free concerts right in the Heavenly Village. This weekend you can enjoy music from the Connor Party on Friday and Some People on Saturday May 23. Shows start at 5:00pm and go until 9pm both Saturday and Sunday.

Boz Scaggs at MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa
When: May 23, 2015 at 9:00pm
Where: MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa
Enjoy a night with Boz Scaggs, the singer, songwriting and guitar player. Listen to his popular songs such as, “We Were Always Sweethearts,” “Dinah Flo,” Lowdown,” and “Slow Dancer.”

The Relationship at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe
When: May 23, 2015 at 7:30pm
Where: Harrah’s in the South Shore Room
Formed by members of the popular bands, Weezer, The Bravery and U.S. Bombs, The Relationship has a unique rock sound that will have you dancing around all night.

Heavenly Mountain Resort Summer Operations
When: May 23 – May 25, 2015 at 10am – 4pm
Where: The Heavenly Gondola in the Village Center
The gondola will be open this weekend for sightseeing. If you haven’t ever ridden up the gondola, it is worth the trip. The views from mid-station are breathtaking! Operations are weather permitting so be sure to call before to check if it is running.
