Put on your lederhosen, grab your beer steins…it is Oktoberfest in South Lake Tahoe!
Start your weekend off at the Himmel Haus on Friday night for some live music and dancing! The party starts at 9pm and will continue through the wee hours of the morning (21 and over please!) And don’t forget your costumes – buy one-get one for anybody dressed in lederhosen/ddirndls!
Recover on Saturday with all all day pig roast. $45 will get you all the food you can eat (includes one beer). Not interested in a pig roast? Head over instead to Camp Richardson Resort for a full day of family fun.
This event really does have something for every member of the family, including the pooch! For the kids – head on over to the pumpkin patch and pick out your perfect pumpkin. Then go to the face painting booths or the bouncy house. Don’t forget to get a costume for you and your dog to compete in the costume contest. Costumes don’t have to be German Oktoberfest themed – get creative!
The Kokanee Salmon Festival is back, although now called the Fall Fish Fest. Walk along the foot path to watch the fall migration of our local fish. There will be many educational activities including a treasure hunt and a visit from Smokey Bear! Saturday and Sunday: 10am – 5pm.
For adults, there will be local vendors, delicious German food and deserts and yes – BEER! Head over to the world class wine and beer garden and pay a little extra and you can go home with your own commemorative beer glass! Get ready to do some dancing, eating, drinking and learning some German beer drinking songs!
It is looking like a perfect Fall weekend to play outside so don’t miss out! The festival is happening both Saturday and Sunday (10am – 5pm). Don’t have your vacation rental yet? Be sure to call us here in the office for last minute availability!
