If you are visiting South Lake Tahoe this Labor Day for one last summer weekend, you will have lots of activities and events to choose from! Check out some of the lineup below:
Start the weekend off with an evening country concert! Brad Paisley will be at the Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harveys, with openers Chris Young and Lee Brice. The show starts at 6pm, and like all the outdoor concerts: even if you didn’t get tickets you will be able to hear in town!
Bringing up the family? Head over to Heavenly’s California Base Lodge for the Kiwanis Community Fair and take a ride on the 40′ Ferris wheel! The carnival will be set up through Sunday and all proceeds go to the local service clubs and non-profits.
Head to the shores and watch the Lake Tahoe Sternwheeler race! The Tahoe Queen and the MS Dixie are depart at 10am, hop on board for just $25 (which includes brunch), and get ready for this one of a kind race. Don’t forget your camera!
Getting in the mood for winter (we are!) head to the California Base Lodge at Heavenly for their annual Tent Sale. Here you will find last winters overstocked skis, boards, boots, and all sorts of outdoor gear and a great price! Don’t forget the fair will be going on all day as well, do some shopping and take some rides! (Saturday 9am – 6pm; Sunday 10am – 5pm; Monday 10am – 2pm).
The outdoor Sample the Sierra festival is back! This farm-to-fork festival highlights all local food, wine and art in the Sierra Nevada! Taking place on Ski Run Blvd on Sunday, September 1st from 1pm – 5pm. Walk around viewing local artwork while sipping on award winning wines from the Sierra foothills. In addition to wine and food, there will be live music, storytellers and cooking demonstrations. Go with an empty stomach so you can enjoy all the local food!
Finish the night off with a Fireworks Extravaganza! The show starts at 8:30pm and will be seen from all over town. Set up on a beach, or get adventurous and take a hike and view them from above!
