If you like free entertainment, and will be in town this weekend, why not head over to MontBleu Casino and feast your eyes on some gorgeous cars from the 50’s and 60’s? Walk around and travel down memory lane, or experience these cars for the first time! Whichever category you may fall into, it will be worth the visit – don’t forget your camera!
The cars will only be in Tahoe for two days (Friday and Saturday only), so be sure to check them out! But don’t worry, if you miss this weekends’ show it continues full throttle in Reno – where it all began. Can you guess where the name Hot August Nights came from? Check out this little history blurb:
“During an evening night on August 1, 1986, the Reno-Sparks Convention Center was bursting at the seams with hundreds of revelers who were partying, cheering and pushing to be let in to a first-time event of a magnitude yet to be realized. Inside, 10,000 spectators were massed together in anticipation of seeing and hearing a live event of the Righteous Brothers, Wolfman Jack, and Jan & Dean! It was that night when nostalgia was unleashed among an audience who excitedly relived their childhood years of the 50’s and 60’s- a time of innocence, prosperity, cars and the birth of Rock and Roll. The weather was HOT, the month of AUGUST was right, therefore, HOT AUGUST NIGHTS was born!”
In addition to the amazing cars, there will be live entertainment and lots of vendors with plenty of merchandise! The entertainment on Friday includes Night Flight from 10am – 2pm and ending the afternoon with the Baker Street Band from 3pm – 7pm. Continuing Saturday with Hindsight, and Route 66 on the outdoor stages. In the evening, head to the indoor theater and dance around to the Village People ($25 tickets, general admission seating).
Also on the schedule for the weekend: Jeff Bridges & the Abiders at Harrah’s on Saturday! Or jump up a few decades for the evening and head to Boogie Nights and dance the rest of the night away to 70s and 80s music!
All in all, this weekend is going to be another fun one. So if you havn’t already – book a vacation rental and celebrate August with some perfect weather, great entertainment and much more!
