For the past 21 years, strangely costumed men and women have been gathering at Camp Richardson in South Lake Tahoe for a fair like no-other. This fair is no ordinary “carnival”, though it contains much of what you find elsewhere – games, entertainment, food and fun.
The Valhalla Renaissance Faire is back in town for its 21st annual celebration!
Over 900 costumed actors, young and old, will be entertaining your family with shows, dancing, jousting and costume contests. Don’t be alarmed by the pirates and barbarians among them as they recreate a time without electronics, television or celebrity gossip.
100 merchant shops will be available for your souvenir purchases. Browse the leather jewelry, body armor and sword selection, or learn to dip your own beeswax candles. Other shops include handmade hooded cloaks, sheepskin hats, and other handmade one-of-a-kind items!
Dress up for the event and you can enter into the Costume Contests or just enjoy immersing into the Renaissance times. The friendly and rowdy actors will take you in as one of their own to partake in the hilarious old-English banter. Don’t have clothing to wear? Head to the “Nom de Plume” to rent Elizabethan clothing for the weekend!
Bring the little ones on the first weekend of the Renaissance Fair in South Lake Tahoe as it is geared toward young audiences with shows and dancing, face painting, henna tattoos and tons of games! Your children will be asking to go back to the Valhalla Renaissance Fair the next day.
