In my experience, firework displays are always better over the water, and what better place to spend this patriotic holiday than gorgeous South Lake Tahoe?
“NBC’s Today show recognizes Tahoe South’s Lights on the Lake Fireworks display as one of the country’s top Fourth of July weekend Celebrations. The American Pyrotechnics Association rates South Shore’s spectacular Fourth of July fireworks celebration one of the top five displays in the nation.”
If you do have the chance to get out on a boat for the fireworks show, it is worth it. A good option if you don’t have your own vessel is one of Tahoe’s paddlewheeled boats like the Tahoe Queen or the M.S. Dixie II. Enjoy live entertainment, food and dancing as the sky lights up! Check out tickets at Lake Tahoe Cruises.
Rather keep your feet firmly planted on solid ground? If so, your options to view the fireworks are endless. For those of you in our Nevada vacation rentals, Nevada Beach is a perfect beach spot. With grilling locations and picnic tables, set up early and spend the whole day sunbathing and end it with some night time fireworks. If you are in California, Ski Run Marina, Timber Cove Marina or Lakeview Commons at El Dorado Beach will also be great viewing spots.
If you really want to get a unique view, put on some hiking shoes and pack a backpack. Mount Tallac is a great place to get a bird’s eye view. Or hike up Heavenly Mountain, when you can see the lake set up camp and watch from above!
The fireworks show is scheduled to start at 9:45pm, so wherever you decided to watch make sure you are ready!
