This program is a partnership between the U.S. Forest Service and Heavenly Mountain Resort. The tour explores the natural and cultural history of the Lake Tahoe Basin, highlighting topics such as water quality, watershed restoration, habitat improvement, fire and fuels management and responsible recreation. The program is FREE and welcomes both intermediate level skiers and snowboarders.

Tahoe Rim Trail
Discover this fun and easy way to exercise and socialize during the winter months in the Tahoe Basin. These treks are taken at a leisurely pace, led by experienced trail guides and are great for all abilities (shorter hikes are appropriate for kids). Saturday, Jan. 15th – Snowshoe Season Officially Begins! – Test out your new holiday gear on our first FREE snowshoe trek of the season to Page Meadows outside of Tahoe City. This gentle, three mile tour will leave you hungry for more action this season!
