Being able to drive from one end of South Lake Tahoe to the other within 15 minutes, it’s amazing the diverse selection of cuisine we have from so many different cultures. Ranging from “hole-in-the-wall” places to five-star dining, eclectic menus to simple ones, you will surely enjoy your dining experience while staying in Tahoe. Some of the types of cuisine the South Shore has to offer are: Chinese, Mexican, Greek/Mediterranean, Japanese, Thai, California Cuisine, steakhouses, Indian, Italian and much more.
Many people who come to South Lake Tahoe tend to cling to the downtown casino area, not knowing there is so much more to the South Shore dining experience than the casino restaurants (which are also very good, don’t get me wrong). If you have come to the South Shore without a vehicle, taxis are in abundance here and no restaurant will be more than a short cab ride away.
As I could write all day about my favorite picks (I am very passionate about food), here is a link to the Tahoe Daily Tribune’s 2010 Best of Tahoe winners which were voted for by the locals — you will need to scroll down almost to the bottom. I hope during your next trip to Tahoe you will get a chance to take advantage of our wonderful selection!
