Let’s Get You Started… Recommendations:
• We suggest logging onto www.overstock.com
and ordering your sheets, towels and house wares. Their
merchandise comes from the best stores, the quality is unbeatable
and the prices unbelievable. Don’t forget to check
out their liquidation bins for the world’s greatest
deals.
• Your vacation rental home needs to have flatware,
glassware and dinnerware for the amount of occupants your
home accommodates. You may want to overstock for replacements
of broken glasses and dinnerware. These can be stored in
your owner closet so your personal caretaker can replace
as needed.
• If the maximum occupancy of your home is 16, it
is advisable to have two coffee makers, no fighting for
the last drop of Java.
• Note that the most requested amenities are TVs,
VCRs, DVDs, CD players, DSL, hot tubs, pool tables, ping
pong tables and foos ball tables.
• Fireplace screen, if applicable.
• Cookware to have, think in terms of a Thanksgiving
dinner or if your guests order a private chef, are serving
platters, casserole dishes, roasting pans, pasta pot and
oven mitts.
• Miscellaneous items needed include a cutting board,
mixing bowls, tea kettle, salt and pepper, can opener, cork
screw, vegetable peeler, whisk, ladle, measuring cups, Tupperware,
bottle opener, grater, colander, utility knife and spatula.
• Small appliances your home should have include
a toaster, blender and microwave.
• Bedrooms should have: a radio, TV, plastic hangers,
alarm clock, waste baskets, two pillows per bed and one
blanket per bed, plus extra blankets in the closets.
• Bathrooms need a plunger and a waste basket.
• For guests’ convenience and clean up, miscellaneous
items such as a broom, dust pan, ironing board and iron,
vacuum cleaner, fan, and fire extinguisher should be in
an accessible closet.
• On the deck, have a gas BBQ, patio chairs and a
table. In winter, a snow shovel and salt should be in a
visible location.
• For safety, carbon monoxide detectors, ground fault
interrupts (GFI), smoke detectors and surge protectors for
electronic equipment should be on hand.
• If your home is a smoking property, please supply
large, glass ashtrays. Even if your home is not a smoking
property, it is a good idea to have a receptacle outside
on the decks/patios.
• When setting up your phone service, please block
long distance with your local provider.
• It is advisable to Scotch Guard all fabrics before
renting.
• Do not put irreplaceable items such as family heirlooms
or antiques in your home.
• Personal items such as sports equipment should
be locked in your owner’s closet
• If your boat is stored in the garage please remove
the keys. Please note Buckingham Properties Lake Tahoe is
not responsible for items left in garages and boats.
