Horseback riding in Lake Tahoe is a great way to experience Tahoe’s true beauty. A number of companies on the South Shore offer horseback riding, the one I would recommend is Zephyr Cove Stables. Being just 4 miles from the casinos, makes it easily accessible from the downtown area. They offer guided horseback trail rides daily, and breakfast, lunch and dinner rides as well. You will be lead by friendly and courteous cowboys on scenic National Forest trails with lake views.
They are open during the summer and fall seasons. Fall in Lake Tahoe is a beautiful time of year that is often missed or underrated by visitors. We experience cooler temperatures, and the Quaking Aspen trees change from fire red to banana yellow giving great contrast to our everyday colors of brown and green.
